Many of these diseases can be managed through minimally invasive techniques (laparoscopy or thoracoscopy) using several small incisions approximately 1/2 inch long in the abdominal or chest wall and using video cameras and specially designed instruments.  Each surgeon is trained and experienced in the most advanced laparoscopic techniques available and uses these minimally invasive techniques whenever safely possible.
